Well, I just got off the phone with our new case worker, "K". And like everyone else I have come to know at our agency, she is wonderful. She was very easy to talk to, and answered all my questions without making me feel stupid - which is LOVELY. Because I'm pretty sure my questions are sometimes silly.
And coming up, there is a agency picnic in Grand Rapids, where we will get to meet her in person! Can't wait!
We asked about our time on the wait list. There have been some conversations on the Listserv about longer wait times, and K confirmed this for us. I like to think they are just being conservative, but I also want to prepare myself for a longer wait. But I suppose it doesn't matter. God has our little one chosen for us, and he has the timeline already planned.
Our main things to do right now is think about right now is budgeting. K mentioned our first trip might come relatively soon after our referral, and we'll need to pay for our travel expenses in cash in Addis, so we want to be prepared for that.
AND we asked her the ever present question on our minds. What are the chances we will get siblings? If you have been following our blog at all, you know that we would love to adopt a young sibling group. We know the chances of this are slim, but today we learned it could be less than slim.
But again, we know God has a plan for our family. If we adopt a single child now, we will just get to go through this amazing journey again. Here's to a short wait!

Praying for a peaceful and quick wait time...hope to be waiting with you soon!! :)
Praying that the wait time is not as long as they are saying! Athought, you're right...God has His perfect timeline already picked out for us to bring our babies home!
The longer wait makes me sad, but it doesn't make me think any different about adopting now! I am so thankful for the fabulous AGCI staff, and the people that we get to do this journey with!
