And the Waiting Begins...

So we have reached that time in our Home Study process where we are waiting.  We know our social worker has all that she needs from us, and is diligently working on our home study paperwork, but now we just wait.  Its so hard not knowing when she will be done!  We are so eager to have this part of the process finished, and get our dossier submitted.  Then we will be THAT much closer to getting on the referral list.  Its so hard having this part of the process be in somebody else's hands!  PLUS it leaves very little to blog about :)

On a personal note:  Today was my last day with students!  It was really hard to say goodbye to my first graders this year.  I'm excited to spend the summer with David working on our yard, preparing our house for children, and doing just a LITTLE relaxing... but I love my job, and each year it is tough to send my amazing little first graders on to second grade!  PLUS, now that it is summer, and I do not have my job to distract me, it will be even harder to wait for our home study to be complete!  I need some projects, or good books to read, or something to get my mind off the waiting :)  Any suggestions?

I am currently reading "There is no Me Without You" It is truly amazing. VERY worth your while. It opens up the situation in Ethiopia and how it has created the orphan epidemic there.

Happy Summer! The Help is an amazing and long book that will keep you busy for only a few days because you won't be able to put it down! It's written from the perspective of African American "help" and the white women for whom they work, slave really, in Jacksonville in the 60s.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for that homestudy. How exciting that you are so close to being done with the paperchase!

Congrats on finishing another year of teaching! Did I hear that you could be in my classroom for summer school in a couple of months?

I have enjoyed reading your updates about your adoption process and look forward to meeting your child(ren) some day.

In the meantime we all "Gotta Keep Reading!" I'm looking forward to sitting on the beach and rereading the book "Hapy Home: A family's guide to finding balance in a dizzybusy world" by Lorle Campos, founder of the company Once Upon a Family.

Enjoy your time with Dave it sounds like it could be the last summer you have just the two of you! : )
